IMT-4: Advanced IMT: Complex Cervicothoracic Spine Conditions & Radiculopathies

This course will provide comprehensive assessment and treatment strategies for patients that present with complex cervical and cervicothoracic spine conditions. Class format is 80% lab with rich hands-on learning that is immersed in case presentation format designed to break down how to effectively and efficiently assess and treat complex spinal conditions.

The clinical reasoning model that is embedded in this class will clearly present how to differentiate:

  • Cervical radiculopathies from shoulder dysfunction,
  • Cervical disc derangements with cervical lateral shift and common radiculopathies,
  • Cervical high-low syndrome and the underlying positional component/muscle imbalance that drives cervical radiculopathy,
  • Differentiating chronic radiculopathic presentations from peripheral dysfunction,
  • Cervicothoracic dysfunction and cervicogenic dizziness,
  • Management of the patient with chronic radiculopathy and shoulder dysfunction – how to know when to treat the shoulder in the presence of radiculopathy.

Online Evidence-Based Modules Include:

  1. Full upper quadrant examination with differential diagnosis of cervical spine vs. shoulder vs. neural container involvement.
  2. A literature review of treatment of complex spine conditions, lateral shifts, and radiculopathies.
  3. Defining the neural container with common pattern presentations and movement compensations seen in the upper quadrant.
  4. Case Presentation with Differential Diagnosis & Treatment #1
  5. Case Presentation with Differential Diagnosis & Treatment#2
  6. Case Presentation with Differential Diagnosis & Treatment#3

*Online modules include built-in assessments.  Participants must pass with a score of 75% or better to qualify for certification.*

A 100+ page manual with all lectures and detailed technique descriptions will be provided at the course to participants.
