IMT-3 is a 16-hour live course designed to inform and equip participants with effective evaluative and treatment techniques for neuromusculoskeletal dysfunction in the lower quadrant. This 2-day course is 90% hands-on, lab-based course to ensure adequate personalized instruction during the live portions of the course. Online learning modules will supplement in-class learning with pre-course offerings. Class time emphasis will be placed on condition differentiation (lumbar vs. hip vs. SIJ) including clarifying evaluative pieces and common pattern recognition, in addition to multimodal treatment interventions.
Interventions will include advance/alternative manipulative techniques for the thoracolumbar junction, lumbar spine, lumbosacral junction, SIJ, hip, tibiofemoral joint, tibiofibular joint, talocrural joint, subtalar joint, 1st ray, cuboid, navicular, cuneiforms and forefoot. In addition, advanced non-thrust and strap assisted mobilization and neuromuscular re-education techniques for each region will be presented with an emphasis on active patient participation and therapeutic exercise prescription.
IMT-3 lays the foundational differential diagnosis skills needed for IMT-5: Advanced IMT for Complex Lumbopelvic Spine, Radiculopathies course.
Online Evidence-Based Modules Include:
- Advanced clinical reasoning module and identification of biopsychosocial factors influencing patient presentation.
- An evidence-based literature review of thrust and non-thrust interventions for the lower quadrant.
- Treatment based classification systems and their role in patient treatment.
- Advanced lumbar vs. hip differential diagnosis case presentation.
- Common practice patterns and an understanding of lumbar hi-lo presentations.
- Full lower quadrant examination with differential diagnosis of l-spine vs. hip vs. SIJ vs. neural container involvement.
*Online modules include built-in assessments. Participants must pass with a score of 75% or better to qualify for certification.*
A 100+ page manual with all lectures and detailed technique descriptions will be provided at the course to participants.
